"Junior Achievement educates and inspires young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics in order to improve the quality of their lives."
- the Junior Achievement (JA) mission
PwC has enjoyed a long partnership with Junior Achievement, helping to reach out to America's youth to increase their self-awareness and prepare them for the workforce.
Using colorful teaching tools provided by JA, PwC volunteers in San Francisco and other cities go to elementary school classrooms to teach students about basic business concepts such as banking, opening a restaurant, and jobs in the community. Each program consists of five lessons that revolve around a different theme, such as "Our Community" or "Our Nation." As the students progress through these programs each year, they gain a better sense of real-world business scenarios, helping them become better consumers and encouraging them to value their education.
