Job Ready!
In April of 2001, over 20 PwC volunteers hosted an all-day workshop entitled Job Ready! with the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. Our volunteers conducted interactive workshops emphasizing communication skills, interviewing, writing, finance, and ethics. The goal was to help middle and high school students prepare for entering the work force, as well as setting and attaining personal goals.
The sessions focusing on interviewing skills and finance were the most popular, and students were amazed to learn that saving $50 per week could add up to $1 million over time. When asked to name the most beneficial thing they learned that day, the response was an overwhelming, "I'm going to start saving my money!"
The director of the Boys and Girls Club, stated, "The day was a huge success, and I can't express how grateful we are to PwC for coming out to share such valuable knowledge with our children."
