Thoughts:

On being an actuary
"We really do a lot of analytical work to calculate a company's liabilities. We advise companies to put adequate money aside for the benefits of those employees that have already retired from that company."

On doing the math
"I was always interested in the sciences and mathematics. But at the beginning of college, I decided to pursue my primary interest, which was math."

On interning at PwC
"Even as an intern, I was able to observe the inner structure of the firm and see how the branches and divisions within PwC work together and share their widespread knowledge with one another to achieve their goals."

On becoming an associate
"You get the sense from day one that everyone here is working towards the same goals."

On training
"There are always classes for continuing your education, meetings to learn more about your division or others you may have some interest in, and also the opportunity to explore an avenue you thought you would never have gone down."

On mentoring
"One of the best things about this firm is its mentoring program. From day one, a mentor is there to help you transition from college to the working environment. They are there to give any kind of advice and to be a friend, they are someone you can talk to about any kind of problems, any kind of issues."

On starting a business someday
"Performing the work I do, I get to see the employees and what kind of benefits they have, and I someday want to use this knowledge to become the leader of a successful company."

On the movie, A Beautiful Mind
"It's about a brilliant mathematician who has a truly original idea. Like the main character in the movie, I would like to somehow, in some way, design a unique solution to a problem. At this stage in my life, it's all about defining long-term goals and discovering pathways to succeed."
