Medical Coverage

Staff Indemnity Plus Plan (available in all locations)
  • 80% reimbursement after deductible (management-level staff: $500 individual/$1000 family maximum; other staff: $300 individual/$600 family maximum)
  • 100% reimbursement of reasonable and customary (R&C) charges after reaching annual out-of-pocket maximum ($2,500 individual/$5,000 family, in addition to the deductible)
Point of Service (POS) Plans (available in most locations)
  • In-network: Small co-payment for most covered services; no deductibles or claim forms
  • Out-of-network: 70% reimbursement after deductible ($500 individual/$1,000 family maximum); 100% reimbursement of R&C charges after reaching annual out-of-pocket maximum ($3,000 individual/$6,000 family maximum, in addition to the deductible); claim forms required
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) (available in some locations)
  • Small co-payments for most covered services; no deductibles or claim forms


Prescription Drugs and Hearing Care

All plans cover prescription drugs and hearing (HMO coverage may differ for hearing care)

Vision Coverage
  • If enrolled in a PwC medical plan, coverage provided automatically
  • Every 12 months: Routine eye examination and either eyeglass lenses or contact lenses
  • Every 24 months: New eyeglass frames
Dental Coverage
  • Diagnostic and preventive services: 100% reimbursement, with no deductible, for care from network provider; 80% after deductible ($50 inidividual/$100 family maximum) for care from non-network provider
  • Restorative and major services: covered at 80% and 50% of R&C charges, respectively, after deductible
  • Orthodontic services: covered at 50% of R&C charges after deductible, up to $1,500 lifetime maximum
  • Annual maximum benefit: $1,500 per person
Flexible Spending Accounts

Health Care Spending Account
  • Contribute up to $5,000 per year tax-free. Get reimbursed tax-free from account for eligible uncovered health care expenses
Dependent Care Spending Account
  • Contribute up to $5,000 per year tax-free. Get reimbursed tax-free from account for eligible dependent day care expenses that allow you (and if married, your spouse) to work
Family and Personal Sick Days
  • You will normally be paid full salary when absent for five or fewer consecutive days due to illness, injury or medical treatment. (Absences of more than five consecutive business days due to your own illness are generally covered under the Short-Term Disability Plan described below.)
  • A paid absence under this policy may also be used to care for a member of your immediate family whose need for care prevents you from coming to work.


Disability Income Coverage

Short-Term Disability Plan
  • Receive from 60% to 100% of your salary for up to 26 weeks if you become disabled from a covered sickness, accident or pregnancy that begins after 90 days of employment
  • Firm-paid benefit
Long-Term Disability Plan
  • Purchase coverage of 60% of your base salary (up to $600,000); benefit payments start after 26 weeks of disability caused by sickness, accident or pregnancy
  • Coverage is automatic
Leaves of Absence

Personal Leave
  • Up to six months of unpaid leave for personal reasons
Family Leave
  • Up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave in any 12-month period for birth, adoption or caring for a sick relative; one year of service required.
  • Up to six months of additional unpaid leave may be available
Parental Leave
  • If you are the non-primary care giver, receive five days of paid paternity leave during the four months following the birth or adoption of your child; three months of service required. The birth of your child is covered by your short-term disability up to a specific period of time that is based on your length of service and your employment status. Normally, the amount of time covered is two weeks before the expected due date and, following the birth, six weeks for a natural delivery or eight weeks for a cesarean section, unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor. The amount of "paid time-off" is determined by your eligibility for short-term disability benefits.
Paid Adoption Leave
  • Receive from 60% to 100% of your salary for up to six weeks if you are the "primary care parent" of a newly adopted child who is under age 18


Life and Accident Insurance

Basic Group Term Life Insurance
  • Pays a $20,000 benefit to your beneficiaries if you die
  • Firm-paid benefit
Supplemental Life Insurance
  • Purchase coverage of from one times your salary up to the lesser of 10 times your salary or $2.5 million
Dependent Life Insurance
  • Coverage for your spouse (if you choose coverage for yourself): Purchase from $25,000 to $300,000 of coverage, in $25,000 increments
  • Coverage for your children (if you choose coverage for yourself): Purchase $5,000 or $10,000 of coverage for each eligible child
Employee Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance coverage is payable to your beneficiaries in the event you are seriously injured in or die from an accident.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
  • For you: Purchase coverage of from $100,000 to $600,000, in $100,000 increments
  • For your spouse: Purchase coverage of from $50,000 to $300,000, in $50,000 increments
  • For your children: Purchase coverage of from $10,000 to $60,000, in $10,000 increments
Business Travel Accident Insurance
  • Automatic coverage of $200,000 ($400,000 for directors) at no cost to you; benefit paid if you die while traveling on firm-approved business or while commuting to or from work


Mortgage Program
  • The firm has an ongoing arrangement with Wells Fargo to help you obtain mortgage financing for your primary residence, vacation home and, in some cases, investment properties. You can also get advice on refinancing existing mortgages
METPAY Insurance Program
  • Through METPAY, a MetLife insurance program, the firm offers lower-cost auto, home and other insurance coverage payable through convenient payroll deductions
Retirement and Savings Plans

Retirement Benefit Accumulation Plan (RBAP)
  • Automatic enrollment on the first of the month coincident with or following your date of hire
  • Credits made by the firm to your plan account equal to 5% (7% for director level staff) of your eligible compensation each pay period (IRS limits eligible compensation to $170,000 through June 30, 2002, and $200,000 effective July 1, 2002)
  • Direct the investment of your account among the available investment options
  • 100% vested after five years of service
  • Withdraw your vested balance if you leave the firm


401(k) Savings Plan

If you are at least 21 years old, you can participate in the 401(k) Savings Plan on the first of September coincident with or following your employment date.
  • Start participating on the September 1 coincident with or following your employment date, if you're at least age 21
  • Save from 1% to 100% of your eligible compensation on a pre-tax and/or post-tax basis (IRS limits 2002 pre-tax contributions to $11,000, and limits eligible compensation to $170,000 through September 30, 2002 and $200,000 effective October 1, 2002).
  • Receive firm matching contribution equal to 25% of the first 6% of your eligible compensation
  • Invest your savings in a variety of investment options
Adoption Assistance Program
  • Receive reimbursement for up to $5,000 of certain adoption-related expenses when you adopt a child (up to $6,000 for a special needs child); one year of service required

  • Provides confidential assessment, referral, resources, and crisis intervention
  • Offers a complete range of services on issues such as emotional well-being, financial problems, parenting and child care, and resources for seniors
